Re: Wahoo 160 LTS

Wow! You sure turned that boat into something to be proud of! When I first started reading this thread I had some doubts but you did a great job. Great looking boat!

Re: Swift Canoe 16 build

Coach, I am going to be doing my build similar to yours. Still thinking about doing the framing and decks in foam to save some weight. I received my plans last week and I have been messing around with drawing a wider transom on her. I was thinking of adding 6 inches to the transom width but not addi...

Re: ST21 Hybrid Powered "SKINNYDIP" Noosa Australia

414 pages later, I am all caught up! What a build and what a story! I feel like am now on the last chapter of a great book, can't wait to see how it ends. The ST21 is one of my favorites of Jacques designs along with the LB26. And right now they are both being built by Aussies! Build On gentlemen. T...

Re: Swift Canoe 16 build

The plans call for the hull to be glassed inside and out with 12 oz glass. But I'm not going to be putting the center seat frames in the boat. I want it to be more open. Cape Man said that his Super light SC16 has some flexing in the bottom panels. I'm just thinking of some solutions for that proble...

Re: Swift Canoe 16 build

That's a good point Barry. I have been thinking about that. Putting them on the outside will obviously affect draft. I know 3/4" doesn't seem like much but sometimes it means getting to the fish or not. But tripping and falling out of the boat doesn't help either. Running fore and aft, do you t...

Re: Swift Canoe 16 build

I order the plans today. Looked over the digital plans for an hour or so and came up with some ideas. Deleting the center seat may cause some flex issues on the bottom of the boat. I am thinking about using some small 3/4" x 3/4" stiffeners on the inside and using carbon fiber tape to cove...

Re: New design: Tina

Dr. Pete, I remember ya. I saw you and Dougster working hard at the boat building tent on Sunday. I didn't want to interrupt.

The Tina is going to make a great boat. Definitely lighter and faster that the original boat. It would be a fun build too.

Re: New design: Tina

There was a very similar boat at the show this past weekend. It was probably the original. Really neat boat. My son and I spent quite a bit of time looking her over. There was no info on her so I'm not real sure. It looked identical to your drawing, down to the color. It would be a great fishing boa...
