Re: middle age guy trying to remember how to fish!

Played with the rig today.Too much going on with a spinning reel to change hands also.I'm making myself retrieve with my left hand, end of story.

middle age guy trying to remember how to fish!

Setting up a new spinning reel this week.My experience with spinning reels has been about once a year for the last five years, never really got it down.I'm right handed, so should I make myself retrieve with my left hand, even thought it feels awkward? I'm 55 and starting over from scratch.

Re: McKee 16 hull weeping brown goo

Yep, I'm the guy who posted on the CF forum. It seems I have three experienced guys telling me about the same thing,so I guess I've got my marching orders.I'll focus my attention on the stern and maybe a couple of test drills at hull low points.I've got lots of marinetex, so I can patch holes about ...

McKee 16 hull weeping brown goo

My 2001 McKee 16 is leaking brown sticky liquid from drilled mounting holes on both the bow and stern. In both cases the holes are well above the sole and water line. The hull over all is solid and in very good condition.FYI, McKee hulls are completely foam filled just like a Boston Whaler. Any idea w...

Re: Texas LB22

That electrical stuff scares the bejesus out of me! I can't wait to hear how that little ETEC moves her along, maybe the perfect power plant for that hull.I'm worried though, the transition from head scratchin and pondering to quietly and effortlessly plying those blue gulf waters,we hope you can ad...

Neat experience at the Herreshoff Museum

In early November I got an invite to a business event in Newport RI.We went a couple days early to spend some time in Mystic. While there we headed up to Bristol to check out the Herreshoff Museum. When we drove up the place looked deserted.A volunteer in his 70's had walked outside for a smoke.I mus...

finding a pro to finish a SB18?

Back in Oct I adopted the unfinished SB18 project from Little Rock Arkansas that needed to find a home desperately.I plan to finish all the glasswork, but would like to find a competent pro to finish her up.Im talking final fairing and painting, mast and all rigging, sprit and lifting keel.I realize t...
