Re: layup and resin amount

Sorry I forgot to add this is not a bateau boat. A recreational hunter designed this and wants to charge for his plans. He stated it would cost under $300. EPS stands for expanded poly styrene. Think cooler styrofoam. I have built surfboards using it before and a lot of the new commercial boards are...

No work this past weekend... I built a motor stand...for what I thought would be the correct height. A 20" motor I figured a 30" high stand would be great. DUHHH....now I have a stand for my 20hp motor :( Guess next time I'll go measure instead of going by memory. My motor stand needs to b...

So what do you think about adding a center fish cooler hatch which I can drain to the bilge? I want to glass the hatch in because I've seen the damage caused by cutting in a hatch later on the wellcraft I had that the floor stringers rotted out. This was due to flex and the screws not being sealed. ...

yes just to divide the center from the sides. Basically to produce sealed compartments on each side. I'm not adding stringers, just commenting on the additional strength and rigidity by even glassing in a small beam on the back similar to a piece of beam vs flat stock in metals. I've worked with EPS...

Here is the layout I'm thinking of using for my supports. They will be 1/2 outdoor Fir coated and pasted in with woodflour and glassed to the hull with 12oz cloth. I think this method should give me a significan amount of rigidity lengthwise while the deck itself will provide longitudinal rigidity. ...
