Re: another aquasport flatback project

Joel, I started sanding on them a little and found a few hairline cracks mostly in the corners. It looks like all they used was gelcoat to seal them originally.. this is from the bottom of the hull http://lh6.ggpht.com/_dtwf8vGFGsA/Scq6sqzRMqI/AAAAAAAAAE0/nzECOxISsMs/IMG_0106.jpg more from under the...

Re: another aquasport flatback project

Joel, So i pretty much finished this up, except for one issue. The windows in the hull are leaking a little. I didnt mess with them because from inside the hull they looked pretty solid, but when I put the boat in the water I get some seepage. They made a relief in the hull the thickenss of the wind...

Joel,

I am ready to put down the sole, the original was 1/4 ply with about 1/8 of glass on the top and a layer of glass on the bottom. What is your reccomendation for replacement? I would like to keep it as light as possible. Is 1/4 ply still enough and can I skip the bottom glass?

Thanks

Joel I am putting in a 35 gal tank with that is 69.50"L x 16.00"W x 8.00"H.. I tried to find one that would allow the knees and stringers to be all in line. It appears most engines have the top mounting bolt spacing at about 13 inches so I tried to make it as narrow as possible to sup...

Joel, That does make sense... Thanks The next step will be to build the fuel tank box with the frames. Does this design look correct. The only real question I have is will 1/2'' stringers up the center of the hull be enough to box in the fuel tank or should I go to 1 inch? The knees will be 1"....

shine I have installed the transom, and refoamed the stringers and am now ready to glass in the stringer tops. When we spoke on the phone you had mentioned to start at the bottom of the stringer and go up and over the top and down the other side by about three inches. I am pretty sure you had said t...
