Engine Size

I have finished building the FL 14. it is time to put an engine on it in time for the Easter Holidays. The plans state up to 7.5 HP. The price of a new engine that size is too much so I can either buy second hand or buy a smaller new 5 HP. As I know nothing about engines I would rather go for the ne...

I understand that I will have to wet the edges when I come to put in the fillets but does this need to be done on untreated wood?. I have already glu...

flat skiff 14 cabin?

At the moment I am building a flat skiff 14. I was fishing in my first boat a V10 in the rain and wondered if it was possible to put a small shelter / cabin on the flat skiff that perhaps covers the bow and front seat. Has anybody tried this or would it upset the balance of the boat. I am going to p...
