C12 Splash

The critter is finally afloat! Just wanted to say that I am very impressed with the sailing ability of the CAT and its great stability. Certainly a versatile boat. It suits my needs and expectations for use at the cottage. My background is in 420s and a variety of other sail driven craft. I also own...

C12 center board

Thanks Gents

That's exactly as I thought, it was the only way that made sense, work from the top down and it is very straight forward.

C12 Centerboard trunk

Thanks LarryA and Jacques. I wish I could draw on this fourm! If I lay a piece of rectangular plywood in front of me and offset the 23 mm from each end, put nails in each end and the midpoint of the connecting line at the edge of the plywood, lay a batten on all 3 points, I have a symetrical fair cu...

C12 center board trunk

Before I cut the plywood, can someone clarify the camber. The keel side of the trunk has a one half inch camber indicated to match the keel line of the hull. Is this camber marked as a fair curve from the extreme ends of the trunk with part of the camber line outside the edge of the plywood? This wo...

C 12 frame locations

Jacques, other builders, The C12 plan D224/4 Stations and Frames detail the placement of the frames relative to the bow, transom and each other. 2 ft. 3 in., 4 ft. 2 in. 2 ft. 9 in. etc., I assume the locations are marked after the sides are in place and are curved. What is the easiest way to mark t...
