Re: Cheap Canoe / Nice canoe

About a gallon and a half for epoxy inside and out. I put a layer of 3.25 oz glass on the outside, and it doesn't seem to take any more epoxy then just a plain coating, and light glass like that is very cheap, I think it was less then $20.00 for the glass. edit: 11 yards of 30" 4oz is about $41...

Re: a question on switches...

This single pole would require the diode, which would add another component.

Re: GF18 foam ?

There was some discussion on here a while back about how in small boats (canoe and kayak) that the space needed to be full or there needed to be vent holes, but that in larger boats that was unnecessary.

Re: All-Glass Drift boat

JM will have a expert opinion, but anyone who has seen an all fiberglass boat cut up knows that it is very think, and not 1 layer. Without the wood providing support, you need lots of glass for structure. When I have watched boats being made in this manor (there are some good videos online) they hav...

Re: 78 Glastron T160 Sportser

With the 16 pitch prop it tops out right at 40. Lighly loaded it WILL slighty go over the redline of 6000. I am thinking that with a 18 to 19 pitch prop might do 45mph. At least, and it would keep it under the redline, AND should provide better economy. The boat itself looks good, but that interior...

The bow lights (sometimes called running lights) are generally run off one switch, and the stern (sometimes called anchor light) is run of a separate switch.

Re: Mark's PH18 in Toronto

Those are some good looking seats. I get where the three will for a 'bench' like unit, and I understand the two 'stools', but what is the other full seat for?

Re: Garvey 13 electrical concerns

I thought they were generally run off the 'switched' power to the engine, not a separate instrument switch. (but that goes back to what I remember from cars, your results may vary)

Re: NC16 in Wyoming

Sounds similar to what I did, I did overlap the 4 oz at the seems, so all the seems have two layers on the outside (3 or 4 at the corners), and then the tape on the inside. I would almost bet, that it would hold together with just the fillet material, if sealed properly, that is tough, hard stuff.
