Re: Building an RB16 in Brazil
It looks like your fiberglass is "floating" on the epoxy with maybe some air bubbles under it? when you glue the sections together, maybe try using a scrap piece of material on top of the plastic you have covering the joint. Flatten the glass and press it tight to the plywood. Extra epoxy ...

Re: Rb-12 Pictures Please
I love the link from small boats. Keep scrolling down, you will get to our RB14...ha. Now I understand your desire for the 10hp. If it is lake restricted it suddenly makes more sense. Its designer says the rb12 will plane with one on board with a 10hp and he is the expert. I imagine you will need to...

Re: Rb-12 Pictures Please
I can't help with the RB12 pictures, but I can speak to our RB14 experience. We use a 25hp on the rb14 and likely could have gotten away with the 20hp. The Rb12 and rb14 are so similar in hull shape, design, and weight, that you might find you want a little more motor than the 10hp if you want it to...

I think you are doing great! There are going to be hiccups and problems along the way. That is what the "moaning" chair is used for after all. Follow the advise above and keep at it...you are going to get there. What a great winter project with your son. Good people here on the site, and s...

Re: RB 14
You can even simulate the planked deck using sheets of 6mm plywood as we did with Kyla's RB14.

Re: Kids in the Shop
So this is a topic near and dear to my heart. Not the least of which is that RB14 was built by Kyla and me! But seriously, I have taught high school wood arts for years and find that given the opportunity to learn in the woodshop, kids thrive. Especially those with little or no exposure to doing thi...

Re: Piping Bag for Fillet
I like to reinforce the cut area on the corner of the bag with packing tape while the bag is still flat. The packing tape keeps the hole from expanding inadvertently while squeezing and give the tip a little more directional control.
