My brother bought a little majek we are going to repaint. The question I have is for the sterling top coat, do we need to take the existing paint down to the glass or sand it enough for the new paint to stick?

Is there a difference between the paint most people on here use and gel coat? What if any are the benefits of the paint over the gel coat.

Ok, Thank you guys, I will go with the sole

Thats where I am kinda torn, I will use it to fish for sure, but also to duck hunt and some of the stuff we run hunting ducks is about 6 inches deep. Loaded with 3-4 guys and gear I am worried the sole will add to much weight, but also would like to have the comfort and convenience of the sole.

I know it is mostly personal preference, but what are your alls opinion on adding a sole to the xf20

It will go on the xf20, trying to price some to set up a budget, two stroke noise does not bother me at all. I will use the boat probably 4 to 12 times per month.
