Painting the bottom of a production boat

I have everything demo'd and want to finish the outside of the boat since its lighter now (and I'm a one man operation) and easier to turn over and maneuver around. My question is what can I put on the bottom of a production boat with out grinding down to glass and starting over and I want it to hav...

Re: Brown OOZE coming from drain plugs

I've told my friend to park that booger, we went down to his storage and as soon as we opened it up the fuel vapor was crazy. I told him we need to cut the floor and get that tank out of there. He said that he was just going to take it to Transport Boats in Palacios and let them deal with it. I appr...

Re: Brown OOZE coming from drain plugs

@Jeff, it is an Explorer he does have a deck cap but the area is small to see into and I am trying to help him and want a good educated guess before we cut the floor out and replace the tank. I really don't feel that a fuel leak would cause resin to breakdown and ooze out like that; but I don't know...

Brown OOZE coming from drain plugs

A friend of mine's boat is oozing a thick brown liquid out of the bilge drain plugs. When the substance hardens it has the appearance of resin. It started occasionally about a year ago and as any good infection left untreated it has festered! I am going to try to attach the video he sent me, my thou...

Re: Aquaplas III for Bay Hawk Transom

No apologies required I live in the country so I have slow internet when I'm at home. I'm spoiled by my connection at work; all I have to do is think about opening a page and it opens.

Re: Aquaplas III for Bay Hawk Transom

Jacques, I have pics posted on the builder galleries and on the repair section under 20' Bay Hawk floor and transom repair. It is a straight forward center console stringers vary in size but at the transom they are 10" the boat has a tunnel in it as well. As of now the boat will have a 2005 150...

Aquaplas III for Bay Hawk Transom

Would Aquaplas III be a one and done on the transom of my 1995 204ST Bay Hawk (Gulf Masters, Inc Knoxville, TN)? The transom is currently 2" thick; but I did it before I knew about Bateau, I do remember that the old transom was made of two pieces of 3/4" ply so it is probably not far off. ...

Re: Posting maximum capacities (weight, passengers, hp)

What about on a refurb'd boat? While power washing mine I took off some of the writing and the regs state that it must be legible. Can I contact the Coasties and get another?
