Re: Phantom 16/18 vs waves
I run my PH18 across open bays regularly. Take your time and the boat will perform well. I choose to do this when the weather permits.

Re: Coosaboard for transom
I used a different product the aquaplas III foam core and Jacques advised to use 120oz on each side for a 115hp. No problems so far with about 100hrs of run time and trailering.
Check with Jacques, but I would go no less than 5 layers of 1708 on each side with the hp you are considering.

Re: Cat 22
Thanks BB Sig. I read the plan notes posted online where the CT22 will not bank on inside turns. There is another 40ft catamaran made by Berky boats which appears to have symmetrical hulls but the outside trailing edge of each hull near the transom is tapered. I hope to build the CT22 one day. http:...

I posted examples of other catamarans designed with asymmetrical hulls that will lean in on turns.

Re: Cat 22
There are power catamarans designed with asymmetrical hulls that will lean into turns such as this cat: http://www.morrellimelvin.com/corsairfoiler/specs.html I am sure as with any design there are tradeoffs to having asymmetrical hulls vs. the traditional power catamaran designs. The CT 22 will not...

Top speed is 41-42mph plenty fast enough for me. For the most part I keep it at 30mph.
