Re: MG20 center console
So about that transom bracket- would it be reasonable to actually built that on to the transom using 10 or 13mm ply and some heavy biaxial fabric layers? Or maybe core it with Aquaplas or Coosa?

Re: Honeycomb questions
Thanks guys!
As I said I’m just asking so I have a better understanding of what it might or might not be acceptable for, but I was kind of thinking about it for a T-top (hardtop)....

I think it’s a good source of fat and protein when you’re lost in the woods too!!

Honeycomb questions
Hey y’all! A couple of quick questions regarding honecomb as a core material: 1) What is the best strategy for running fasteners through it (i.e., should one overdrill and epoxy fill to prevent h2o intrusion or other reasons)? 2) It seems like kerfing and shaping it like D’cell or plywood would kind...

Re: Permanent fuel tank questions
Copy that, thanks guys!! Based on various websites and youtube videos it looks like it’s not recommended to foam them into place nowadays, but powder coating the tank seems like a good idea... I know we want to keep fuel and electrical stuff separate, but at some point they have to converge to go th...

Re: MG20 center console
Thanks Tom! The frames are per the plans - the span between frames D and E is about 6 feet. I think it's done that way to accommodate the fuel tank maybe? https://i.postimg.cc/Bvqfq80V/Screen-Shot-2020-08-27-at-12-34-36-PM.png Looks like I double posted one of the isometric views of my model. I mean...

Re: MG20 center console
Ok, after farting around with it, I've landed on a pretty traditional center console layout. That layout evolved into what it is for a reason, after all. I'm not facile enough with Rhino to really draw things very well, so the console and windscreen and so forth are just sort of reference shapes. I'...

Re: Permanent fuel tank questions
I doubt it. Obviously the fewer holes the better, but the beam strength of the entire sole - the compressive strength between port and starboard - has to be tremendous, even with hatches and stuff cut into it. If the tank is oriented across the beam then hiding an access hatch under a gunwale would ...

Re: Shoebox hatch
How about a hinge like this that lifts the entire lid up and away from the lip?

Permanent fuel tank questions
Hey y'all! I could spend some time with my good friend Google researching the answers to these questions, but I thought I'd take the easy route and tap the brain trust here instead. :D I'm spending an irresponsible amount of time mentally designing and physically drawing out the MG20 as a center con...
