Re: Expanding foam calculations
Since temperature, relative humidity, density altitude, mixing accuracy and whatever else are factors I’m going to say it’s incalculable. I think the usual scientific method is to buy what the plans say plus 2 gallons and then see how much more you need when you get that poured. Fred’s pretty ...

Re: Hull support after flip?
Guy, I'm assuming the FS19 is a scaled up FS17. I don't think any normal trailer would support the unfinished hull very well. at least without elaborate modifications to the bunks. The variable deadrise (I think that's the right term), means there's no flat planes to lay flat on the bunks. I built a...

Re: LM18 low shear very light weight build question
Just for funsies, You could save about 55.5 lbs. by replacing all the 12 oz. tape and cloth with 6 oz. Including a corresponding reduction in resin use. I did the math in my head while my wife was trying to figure the ages of all our kids, nieces , nephews and all their kids out loud but I'm close. ...

Richard, now you're just showing off. 8) But thanks for posting the fish pictures, I love snooping in other folks' fish boxes. Is that a huge Jolthead porgy at the bottom of the second picture? It frustrates me when I can't identify a g.o.m. fish. Are you sure you don't want to go all "Peter&qu...

I don't think you can get more "inshore" than some of the little creeks Lee fishes. Maybe he can tell us what the draft is. It won't be a flats boat.
You gotta compromise somewhere.

Re: OD18 - NH
If the spilled epoxy bothers you, scrub it with wood flour, soak it with alkyhol or acetone and use wood flour to soak up whatever remains. I did it when I dripped 2 stroke oil right in the middle of a $130 sheet of meranti. It disappeared. But I don't think you have a problem if you're sure it's ep...

Re: GT27 Build (Wes K)
Wes, I just tried the "tropical slow" MarinEpoxy hardener and it makes a big difference in the heat. I glued and glassed all day (up to 6 oz. batches) in the sun. 'Never been able to do that with regular slow. I didn't go back through your thread to see if you're already using it so as usu...
