Re: Skoota questions for Richard
Good to hear from you and to know you like the Skoota designs. As you probably know, our Skoota 20 was built on Saturna and we cruised it as far as Princess Louisa and Chatterbox Falls. Our Skoota 28 was built in Port Townsend but we spent three summers with it in BC before trucking it south to Texa...

Re: Outboard placement
I use a central steerable outboard on my folding powercat designs, Skoota 20 and 24. That way there are no oil sump problems when the hulls (and thus engines) rotate for trailering. My Skoota 18 is small enough that a single outboard is enough and twin outboards mean twin fuel tanks, batteries etc s...

Re: Travel cradles
Sorry for the delay. We are travelling in Mew Zealand right now. Last night spent at the S tip of S Island. Looking out at Southern Ocean and roaring 40s. Nothing until Antarctica. Sounds dramatic! Wind was 10 knots max. Waves 6in at best Anyway. As you know we transported our Skoota 28 from Seattle...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM
It's Hopetown in the Abacos. And the lighthouse is the worlds last clockwork powered kerosene lit light. It is all cast iron, made in the UK in late 1880's and floats on a bath of mercury. You (I) can push the light with one finger even though it weighs 4000lbs (I think) We have been here many times...

Re: Question for Richard Woods
But I am! Sorry I haven't been active here for months. As Fall guy says we are currently living on board our Skoota 28 powercat in he Bahamas, so internet is sometimes sketchy. It is our third visit here in Skoota. It was built in the PNW and we cruised there for 3 years before trucking it to Texas....

Re: North Carolina Build
As I said earlier, I haven't drawn the Skoota 32 for building in plywood. There are a few building Skoota 32's, including Fallguy and a couple of others in the USA. One is in regular contact with me, but has yet to start the build, the other sent me photos of his first hulls a few weeks ago. You all...

Re: North Carolina Build
"Interesting" to see the photos. Especially as I haven't drawn a Skoota 32 in plywood, only in foam sandwich.
