Re: Eric's C21
Eric, I've watched your build and life story with amazement. Life often sets us up so that we can take a different path. I'm a retired CNC sales engineer located in Vancouver, Washington just north of Portland, Oregon. My neighbor is currently outsourcing enough machine parts to keep 10 - 12 vertica...

Re: PNW CX 25 scaled up
After being in Mexico for more than a month the tent did it's best to hold up to the snow ( most we've had in twenty years). tent13.jpg The wife felt sorry for me and had these plans drawn up. What can I say - we bought an acre to place it on. Garage space 2730 sq. ft. courtney.jpg If all goes right...

Re: PNW CX 25 scaled up
28 degrees in the tent, no clean up mistake work getting done today. I'm using denatured alcohol and white vinegar to loosen then scrape the uncured epoxy. I had put down a coat of epoxy mix on the divinycell the day before I wetted down the fiberglass with the bad mix. The theory at this point is t...

Proceed as if you know what you are doing... I'm not sure if that is the best advise I've ever be given.

Re: PNW CX 25 scaled up
Got up to a really slow start this morning , Haven't done one of those nights for 20 years. :) Thank you all for the pictures and concern, I do appreciate them it. Realized last night that I had to pry the bad glass off the tape, then crawled on top of the boat to rip it of the keel (which has 1708 ...

Re: PNW CX 25 scaled up
Nidacore and the foams both soak up some resin. I am pretty sure JM stated it would help to first put a thin coat on the core, let it tack up, and then do your glassing over it. I have been working a bunch with Nidacore recently and that is what I am doing and it seems to work much better for me. I...

Re: PNW CX 25 scaled up
I just ran the epoxy calculation ratio here on the site - it appears I'm using more epoxy than average but way less than a beginner. I've not been too concerned with using more than average realizing the divinycell soaks up way more epoxy than wood. I spread it with a yellow plastic spreader or the ...
