Re: PG 20 Wiring Critique

I changed the ACR grounds. The positives are seperate isolations blocks. I guess with the sound, are you saying you would have a switch for the amp and head unit? Yes. Separate switch. You need to be able to shut it off hard without needing tools. Consider motor alternator failure. All you want on ...

Re: PG 20 Wiring Critique

Joe2700, valid options. I wasn’t really thinking about VHF range as I’m normally not so far out that a handheld won’t get it. I would suggest that external switching should be preferred to running through settings.

Re: Jaysen's Helms 24

No interest in “loop”. All saltwater for us. And as much under wind as possible.

I can see us spending a month on board. Pick down in a harbor. Sightseeing and fishing. Really just a floating RV when you get down to it.

Re: Removing outboard from boat.

Three 2x4, some rope and some chain.

Make a simple tripod over transom using rope for the joint. Throw chain over top and around motor mount. Unbolt motor. Bring legs of tripod closer together a bit to raise motor. Lower boat.

Seems simple but I’m sure I’m missing something.

Re: PG 20 Wiring Critique

ACR should have direct ground to each bat. These should be paired coming off the charger for each charging circuit. I know your positives run to terminal block... make sure it is an actual isolation block not a buss. That would be an expensive mistake. :) I'm also not sure about how you are wiring t...

Re: Jaysen's Helms 24

Wow, 5 feet really??? Jeff 4.17' per plan. I like to add a foot just to keep me out of trouble. It's not like I stuck a J30 on dry land or anything... I also need to get a keel inspection done as there are rumors that SOME of them were extended. Based on my measurements in the hull, I may have the ...

Re: Eric's C21

I've been chatting (very sparsely) with Eric on other mediums. I think I can say "life is well" but busy for him. I'm sure he will pop in here and elaborate.

Re: Jaysen's Helms 24

I've been pondering this the past few days. Then bingo. Hands = Honda courtesy spell check. Correct? If so, I agree a Honda genset properly installed, cooled and vented in the void as part of a serial hybrid would be the ducks nuts. I hope you come to love your Helms sufficiently to invest in going...
