Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION
Wow Daytrip! Haven't checked in on your build in awhile and I got to say "you knocked it out of the park" with this project! I know you built the hatches and receivers on the transom and back side of the seat as well as all the others.......how will these hatches operate? Are they hinged a...

Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION
Time off from the day job always helps......I'm semi retired and still can't keep up with you!
Curious to see what fittings and plumbing you use to drain those gutters. Will they go overboard or to the bilge pump?

Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION
Beautiful work DAYTRIP......it's really coming together nicely! Especially like the pic of the liner with the hatch drain sitting on top. That will look very clean and professional once installed. Can I assume you made a male mold for the liner out of mdf or similar, body worked it, primed/sanded ti...

Re: 1981 Grady White 240 Offshore - Transom Replacement
Paul, Jacques may have a different answer but on your engine mount holes I would not drill 1 1/2" hole for a 1/2" bolt. What your looking for here is a skin of epoxy to protect your transom core from any possible water intrusion into the bolt hole. A layer 1/8" to 3/16" should be...

Re: 28 BERTRAM EXPRESS CONVERSION
I've done a lot of spray painting (mostly automotive).......after thinking about it a little more I think the next time I shoot something I will order the half mask. The painters hood and full mask are great for protecting the eyes but honestly the distortion looking through the glass/tear offs and ...

Re: 28 BERTRAM EXPRESS CONVERSION
Mbiggerstaff, Been lurking your thread for awhile, really like what your doing to this 28. Beautiful craftsmanship! You asked about the supplied air system above so I thought it's time to comment. I've owned my breath cool system from turbine products for almost 3 years now and couldn't live without...

Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION
That's a lot of bottom for sure. Sure is sweet doing it turned over versus overhead. I remember repairing what seemed like a gazillion blisters on my dads 33 Bert......all overhead, real fun!
What's your secret mix for fairing compound or do you use a premix?

Re: SportCraft 232 Fishmaster 1990
Thank you!
The last couple of days (a few hours here and there) removing the old plywood from my transom started me thinking about abandoning the bracket idea and just go transom mount.
But when I saw how yours came out I have to give it a shot!

Re: SportCraft 232 Fishmaster 1990
Wow Lawtoolguy! This build is really coming out sweet. That bracket looks awesome as does the rest of your work! I'm still in the deconstruction phase on my project but have been planning on an integral bracket like you and DAYTRIP have done. Been bugging DAYTRIP for awhile trying to learn as much a...
