Looping of fuel tank vent line
What is best practice for routing / looping the vent line running from the fuel tank to the vent fitting? Also, is the guidance on the height of the vent relative to the fill? I'm using a vent like this one (with a 90° tube): http://old.attwoodmarine.com/store/prod ... mount-vent

GV15 Console -- need ideas
I'm working on the console for my GV15 and needs some ideas for how and to best isolate the electronics from the fuel tank & lines. The fuel tank is built into a well in the floor that is under the forward jump seat of the console. Are there some build threads that address this issue?

Re: SOBX Little Big Boat GV15
Today was rainy so no epoxy but I did get all the holes drilled for the bungees hold downs: 9487 9488 9489 There is also an opportunity to fillet and tab the top of the inwale to the bottom of the deck, which will add considerable strength. Thanks, I’ve added this to the plan. If there's a way to in...

Re: Swim platform for GV15
I received the swim platform from the eBay seller — I think it is going to work. Here it is test fit of the platform minus the swing down step: 9486 I'll be lowering it about 1-1.5" from the picture which will give me a 12" step down from the deck. I might drop it another inch or two since...

Re: SOBX Little Big Boat GV15
After gluing and tabbing the inwales, its been “cleats-R-us” for the last few days; I think I’m done cleatifying under the side and forward casting decks. The red rectangles are the future locations of three hatches: 9484 Here is a detail view showing the frames + cleats for the side decks. The soli...

Re: attaching hatch hinges
I'm laying out three hatches on the bow casting deck; the deck & hatch lids are 3/8" so it looks like tee nuts are the way to go. Here are the hinges I'm using (size is about 2.6”x1.2”): 9478 The center one is the chain locker so it doesn’t need a gutter since it gets washed down anyway aft...

attaching hatch hinges
I've started laying out and building hatchs on the forward deck of my GV15 and I'm puzzling over how to best attach the hinges. A search of the forum turned up a few discussions on the topic. "Mounting hatch hinges ??" from 2009 suggests tapping into holes filled with silica+chopped glass+...

Swim platform for GV15
I'm looking for a swim platform / step for my GV15 build. I've added to the shear so the transom height is about 24" making it a bit too much without some sort of intermediate step. I'm finding lots of them like this Garelick that use 304 stainless support tubes that are simply flatten at the e...

Re: SOBX Little Big Boat GV15
Spring is here so I'm back at it. Got the inwales cut and glued in: 9471 A couple of questions for folks: First, the plans call for decks cut from 3/8” ply — what about the splices? What have others done? Second, the plans call for 1/2" backing plates for deck hardware — how large should these ...
