Big Bateau bay

Well it was slow today so I was Google Earthing. Neet site for checking out water and fishing spots. Well... Guess what I have been all around but never in. Big Bateau Bay! I will have to make that my next trip. Looked like a really nice inner bay that lies between 2 areas that I do fish. Maybe it w...

Huck,

Don't worry about the delta. It is marked fairly well if you watch for White PVC pipes. Most of the river works are 20-40 ft deep.

There are also many small and large artificial reefs set up with old bridge rubble in the bay that are easy to fish from Weeks bay.

Station A is per plans. You are correct as to the replacement of B with a staion 12" each side of the original B station. That will give me ~ a 6' forward deck for casting. Load bearing at 24" intervals with cross bracing for deck support. I would think that that should be satisfactory if ...

Thanks. I figured I would be OK given that I was planning on adding a frame. Unless the B station is in some particular structure position which from looking at the plans I wouldn't think so. Huck, There seems to be quite a few gulf coasters on here. We need to pick a weekend and have a gathering. I...

Jacques - need new stations

Jacques,

Can I get the drawings for a A+ and B+ station for the FS17? I need a station 12" forward and rearward from B. That will allow support for an oversized forward deck.

Thanks,

I had similar debate between the OD18 and the fs17. I really like the size, stability and look of the OD18 but I just need the V to ease through the Mobile Bay chop. I wasn't an easy deliberation. I think the FS17 is a nice blend of several ideas. It is shallow draft, Soft V and has great lines. As ...

Jacques - FS17 ?

Jacques, I got my plans and I have my general design laid out in my mind. My question is If I carry the forward casting deck back 6' spreading the supports at 24" for A,B&C and I cross link them with 1"x2" evry 12" should that be sufficient for deck strength? Also what would ...

I'm with you on the shrimp. I have the exact issue. Love to eat them but they will make my hands swell like crazy. Still eat them though. Still get epoxy all over up to my elbows at times.
