Re: fs 17 pre-build question
The FS 19 that I built for my brother was used extensively here along the Georgia Coast for almost a year before he took it to Virginia where he is now using it mostly in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. It has more of a Bay Boat vibe to it as even with the sole raised by 1 inch there was sti...

I have an 8 foot power pole on my flats skiff and in anything over 5 feet of depth it won’t hold very well, especially with wind or tide. On my brother’s FS 19 ...

After this boat I would suggest an FS 19. Perfect for your area.

Re: Panga question for Jacques
My family had a place in Ocean City for 40 years. I used to bring my 24 foot deep V walkaround that had a 225 HP single outboard on an Armstrong bracket and fished with it routinely at the Jackspot, Poorman’s Canyon and many of the wrecks and reefs. No kicker. Never had a problem. If I was going to ...

Re: PG25 or GS28
Your response is very helpful. From what you’ve shared, I understand more about your requirements. Tom has made some good points about prioritizing your needs and how that might help narrow down the options. I live in an area on the other side of the Atlantic where our fishing grounds are somewhat s...

Re: PG25 or GS28
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your decision to embark on a boat building project. I’m curious, how do you intend to use the boat you are contemplating and where? Do you need a boat that is capable of handling rough conditions miles off shore in the ocean or are you looking for somethin...

Use more zip ties. They seem spaced awfully far apart.
