Re: Low deadrise MG20

Changing the deadrise is a complete redesign. That's why you don't see anyone trying to do that.

Look at the OB18. That's the boat you're looking for. Or maybe the C19.

Umm Joel,

I hate to be the one to break it to you, especially this far into the build. But looking at the second picture of your last post, I'm pretty sure the boat won't fit through that door.

Minor oversight.

Nah, not too much. There are lots of boats out there with similar design points. JMM didn't create the fs-18 from thin air. I won't name some of the other similar boats, for well established reasons. (some of those builders are cantankerous old farts). This boat looks similar, but it's no knockoff. ...

Everything else being equal though you want as much of the weight of the boat to be towards the center. Picture a two people on a seesaw, you can keep them balanced at either 1 foot from the fulcrum or 10 feet apart from the fulcrum, but at 1 foot the balance is much more stable Shine, I'm going to...

What if you built the FS17 low-sheer? It has a similar program to the phantom, and would probably take less time to build. JGroves built his between October and June, while keeping his day job.

Tom you lost me there. When bass boat and speed boat folks talk about a "pad," they mean a narrow strip down the keel of a v-hulled boat that's about 8 inches wide, flat as a pancake, and runs forward 6 or eight feet. Here's a link to a picture of a pad built into a PH16. http://www.bateau...

sorry, its about 7 degree Joel, I'm interested in how you measure the 7 degrees. Are you measuring one side from horizontal or are you measuring the angle across the keel, which would be double. Many boat companies use the first measure, and by that calculation, your average bass boat is about fift...

moral support

I think a boat should be named WHATEVER her wise skipper desires.

And I think a wise skipper does what Mama says. Just remember, so long as the name is feminine, you'll be able to say you have one girl you can tell where to go. (as long as you don't say it too loud).
