Re: Jacques Mertens-Goossens

Jacques,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and for a speedy recovery. I don't know the extent of the break but my son broke his femur in the spring and had a rod installed. It took a few months but he's very close to 100%. I'm sure you will get there. Patience and rehab are my only advise.

E-Cat 24

I can't find the plans for the E-Cat 24. Are they still available.

Thanks,

Bart

Re: PC24 Hull Speed

Fallguy thanks for your comments. I have considered those issues. I think my main issue is I'm trying to fit all of my boating needs into one boat. Not really sure I can get there. I keep buying boats because it's easy and buying used, a decent deal. I use them for a while, fix them up and sell them...

Re: PC24 Hull Speed

Speed predictions for that type of boat are difficult and depend very much on displacement and HP. One of our first PC24 builders gets more than 30 mph with a 115 with 4 persons on board. That PC24 has the optional deck framing for stiffness. A 70 HP with the same load will run between 20 and 25 mp...

PC24 Hull Speed

What can someone expect for speed of PC24 if using the max 70hp listed? Any advantage besides redundancy by utilizing twins are the rear of each hull? Twin 30's or 40's? I have a "riding pontoon" and a fishing pontoon now. I'd like to build exactly what I want as neither of these are ideal...

Re: Outboard placement

I use a central steerable outboard on my folding powercat designs, Skoota 20 and 24. That way there are no oil sump problems when the hulls (and thus engines) rotate for trailering. My Skoota 18 is small enough that a single outboard is enough and twin outboards mean twin fuel tanks, batteries etc ...

Skoota without upper structure

Richard (or anyone else), Can the Skoota 20 or 24 be built without an upper structure? I'm looking (actually looking for my brother) for an open boat similar to: http://derickreynolds.co.uk/modelB.htm I was on an email exchange with Derick back in 20172018 and he was retiring and no longer building ...

Re: Outboard placement

Thank you for the reply. This is the design with twins inboard of the hulls: http://asia-marine.net/sale/brokerage/p ... -29-amch12

It does seem inefficient but it's kind of nice not having to work around the outboards.
