Re: OB19 in the Chesapeake

MDFeen, you’ve gotten some very good input so far and I’ll add my 2 cents. I fish the Chesapeake regularly as I live right where the bay meets the Potomac River. It’s the most southern part of Maryland. The OB19, I feel, would be a great boat for most days as long as your mindful of weather change (...

Re: 13' Boston Whaler bench, console, interior wood replacement

Mike, the wood I used was mahogany I picked up at local lumber yard. However, specialty marine will sell you a completed kit for not much more in price than I had in my lumber and Spar finishng. Take a look

I’ve never used it nor do I know anyone but feel it would potentially be good for what you trying to do. Their website talks about marine use. Good luck

Re: Pettit easypoxy grays

The inside was rustoleum oyster white marine top side. Also, I have kiwigrip on the bottom about 4” up the side in cream color. Both I had leftover from another project. Honestly, if you want to save money, the rustoleum topside paint does really well. Thin coats, and several of them. Only about $15...

Re: Pettit easypoxy grays

Sorry, I just saw this. I don’t have a lot of pictures but here’s a link to a few of the canoe I built. I used Pettit easypoxy Platinum paint. The color,I think, turned out nice and was pretty easy to use. Just put it on with very light/thin coats. This has about 4 maybe 5 very thin coats using roll...

Personally, I have always loved the DE25 but doubt it would be great offshore. I was thinking it would be great for the Chesapeake Bay though, which is w...

Re: Paddles

That is some kind of beautiful. I actually jumped on the site early this morning to ask if anyone had a good paddle plan and ended up seeing this. Stunning. I was hoping to maybe have a winter project as I wait for some warm weather but man you set the bar very high for paddle making. Great job. By ...
