FS14 launch towards the top of MN

So, I basically finished my boat in May, boat camping season started and it took me until this weekend to actually drop the boat in the water. Fantastic day on the water, the boat handles great, cruises very comfortably at 18 mph with my 20hp with my wife and I on board. Tracks wonderfully, trim is ...

Glued down the bench and the foredeck today. Determined to start painting the interior next weekend.

Re: Finishing gunwales and transom FS14

Well, I went for it today. Rounded over the transom and the inner edge of the gunwale. Then glassed. Also installed the bow eye and the electrical conduit. Also, funny enough, I decided to go with a gray cockpit. First boat I’ve built that won’t have a white cockpit. Kind of a departure! Thanks ever...

Re: Finishing gunwales and transom FS14

Where would you guys transfer from hull color to cockpit color, gray to white? Maybe right in the middle of the transom’s top edge? For whatever reason these artistic decisions are way more work than the actual work! Bill White boat or white cockpit? white is harder on the eyes, so gray cockpit is ...

Finishing gunwales and transom FS14

Hi everyone, Since the northland is getting coated with a quarter inch of ice and then 4-6 inches of snow, I figured it’s good day to decide what I’m going to do with my gunwale and transom sheer edges. See the attached pictures, my sheer is a 1x and the 1/4 inch ply. I’m leaving the outer edge squa...

Re: FS14 MN build

Cut and fit all the deck and bench pieces. And then I imagined the future a bit.

Ahh, that’s good news. They don’t exactly give them away but I really like it.

FS14 MN build

Boat flipped and on the trailer. Now to finish the inside! Sadly, my random orbit sander died yesterday….but I found a spare, so life goes on. I don’t know if this is a build thread or not, but I’m committed getting this done by ice out. Clean looking from 30ft, 30mph, or 3000 miles. Bill A376D17D-9...
