Marinepoxy Hardener Question
I got my second batch of Marinepoxy the other day and I'm afraid to use it due to the coloring of the hardener. It has a very deep grey color to it. Has anyone experienced this? I mixed one small batch and ended up not using it because of the amount of air bubbles in the mixture.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: 18 Maritime Skiff Rebuild
The deck that it had originally was 3/4. Not sure if it was marine ply. I figured I would replicate what the original deck was. I had thoughts about using coosa but in all honesty the amount of weight savings wouldnt of justified the cost. Roughly how much lighter would 3/8 ply be?

Re: 18 Maritime Skiff Rebuild
Not at all! Just have been quite busy past couple of weeks. I have everything finally grinded down and stray foam removed. Engine came off last weekend as well. Did some sleeping on what I wanted to do and I've decided that I'm going to lay down 3 layers of 1708 and see what that does as far as thic...

Re: 18 Maritime Skiff Rebuild
Thank you, I appreciate the response. I should of added some more background on the reason for this project. This boat was on the trailer last summer and each time I would haul it after a days fishing I would notice water leaking out from the bottom of the hull after the boat had been sitting for a ...

Re: Old fiberglass discolored on Hull
Will do moving forward. I have barely grinded any glass off. The hulls on the maritimes are paper thin. I don't have an exact measurement but its thin.. To the point where I have to be careful walking around. If I had to guess it might be a 1/8th in thick?

Old fiberglass discolored on Hull
I have been noticing more and more areas where the pink fiberglass has turned either black or a cream color on the inside of the hull on my skiff. Each area feels fairly weak and one spot actually punctured in the foam removal process. This discoloration is only in between the stringers. What is the...

18 Maritime Skiff Rebuild
Hey Everyone - New around here and this will be my first build. I purchased a 1994 18 ft Maritime Skiff last spring and after fishing it for a season I could tell that the foam was saturated. I pulled about 600 lbs of wet foam out of the hull and currently at a point where I'm back an fourth on how ...
