Re: C17 trailer
I'd search the used trailer listings on craigslist, fakebook, etc for your area. You can save $$ and customize the bunkboards etc to fit exactly how you want. Visit some local boat dealers for used trailers also.

Re: OD18 Outdoor Storage Florida
my 2 cents; I'd have a tight cover to keep out any wasp nests, cobwebs, bugs, and sparrows. Make sure no water can pond on it though.

Re: Scupper ?
My only regret building the ob17 is putting in the side scuppers, per dwgs. When going fast, they caused a small rooster tail spray pattern, so I sealed them closed. In a pinch they can be kicked open for fast deck drainage.

Re: FS19 (-5%) in GA
Progressive wrote me a policy for my homebuilt ob17, and I paid the first premium. A few weeks later they refunded my premium, cancelled my policy, and stated they don't insure homebuilts.

Re: raising sole with tall cleats?
nominal 1"x1" bought at Lowes, actuall size is more like 3/4" square. I wish I had raised the sole deck even higher, maybe 1.5". I put in the side scuppers per drawings, but caulked them shut to keep the deck dry. If need to I can kick them open for rapid deck drainage.

Re: OB17-new CNC kit project
Tubing.jpg Docked.jpg Summer fun tubing and cruising! This boat can fly across the water, with 4 people goes 32 mph at ~4k rpm, i haven't pushed it faster than that; it's a fun boat! I've added a few things like bimini, ladder, and seat cushions. The only design change i'd make if I built another w...

Re: OB19 Pre-Build Questions
Hello and welcome to wooden boat building! FWIW and IMHO, To answer your question, an OB19 jig will fit during construction, HOWEVER, you will be wishing your garage was longer than 20' because you'll be tripping over everything. I did an OB17 in a 20' shop and had about 2' walkaround clearance arou...

94610973_10222197999325463_5382200913651826688_o.jpg Update: After several trips to the lake between November 2019 and end of the wuhan virus lockdown in 2020, this boat's been nothing but fun. I did a few modifications of course during the winter months. Those scuppers shown on the plans kept the ...
