Re: CX25 Questions for Jacques
A 28 footer is BIG for a home build. I suspect the limited market is the reason Jacques doesn't get enthusiastic about doing a new design! That's true, but seeing as the alleged demand has been there for at least 13 years and people build other 28 foot designs, maybe there's some merit in doing it?...

Re: CX25 Questions for Jacques
Looking back at the posts regarding the CS25, a longer version has been requested since at least 2005. Jacques has also mentioned recently (within the last few years, anyway) that a longer and wider version is coming, but he consistently refuses to give any sort of timeline for when that might happe...

Re: CX25 Questions for Jacques
Seeing as the question pops up every so often, maybe it's time to design the CS28/CX28?

Re: "I wish I had..."
I see no reason for glassing the inside of the boat (although I did my seats, breasthook, and transom knees as they will get the most abuse) or reinforcing the transom if you are only rowing. More weight for both with minimal advantages. I never intended to row it, I always intended to put an outbo...

"I wish I had..."
I've searched but couldn't find. This thread is for the things you wish you'd done while building the boat, or things you now wish you'd done differently after the splash. I'll start with my now somewhat vague recollection of my dinghy build way back when. I wish I had... ...used epoxy and not polye...

Outboard brackets and motorization
Still planning my planning to build a boat... Two questions popped up in my head all of a sudden. The first has to do with outboard brackets and transoms, the second with motorization. Brackets and transoms first. If building a boat that has a full transom option as well as a regular motorwell trans...

Re: C19 - Major Structural Issues Now Slowly Getting there - Stretching to 21 now!
The OcraCoke boats have versions with built-in brackets based on through-transom stringers, and it looks good and seems to work well. It's a Carolina Sportfish style boat like the Bateau CS23/25, but I'd reckon the principle would be the same. Like this: https://bandbyachtdesigns.com/ocracoke-256-2/...
