Re: DE23 for VT Jeff

Why not the DE25 - probably very similar build times, not much more weight and materials and probably no harder to trailer/ manoeuvre but you get quite a bit more space? And I will guess will ride a little better. Interesting thought. My basement and garage are both 24 feet deep so building the 23 ...

Re: VG23 New Build

Did your wife have any recommendations as the result of her research? Thanks to her also. She def likes the Airheads but they are cadillacs and we are more Corrolla types (we literally drive a corolla ;)). Said to check out Origin brand also. We're going with the Cuddy light, no agitator, very simp...

Re: VG23 New Build

"As for the head waste tank" Mick, Have you looked at composting toilets at all? My wife has been researching tirelessly(including some field research ;) ) and feels they are the best option by far. We currently have black tanks in a few vehicles/vessels and she wants to convert them all t...

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS

What a beautiful looking boat! She is a real picture. I'm really looking forward to seeing photos of her on the water in the near future!! Have fun with the sails and all the spars. We're likely to make at least a couple of sails for the VG23 (e.g. storm-jib and flying jib) so look forward to readi...

Re: DE23 for VT Jeff

The birth of the Tolmans is 80 miles down the road from me so I have seen a ton of them. They are good solid boats but I think you will be much happier with a DE build. The build method is much different than what you are used to and that alone is enough reason to go with a DE. I will say both JM a...

Re: Jeffs FS14 LS

Could not attach a photo to my design question so here's the latest progress on the Tammie Norrie. Outwale, spacers, centerboard case, thwarts, thwart knees are all done, working on floors atm. Started work on the sails at my in-laws(kit from sailrite) and plan is to bring a few spar blanks and tool...

DE23 for VT Jeff

Long time no post, hope all are well. I'm progressing on my latest build, Tammie Norrie by Iain Oughtred, could possibly splash by September, we'll see. Have been busy on other projects as well, currently converting the FS14 to Hydro steering since the cable system was giving me issues: the boat is ...
