Hi Larry . . . boat is looking great. Craters are usually caused by contaminates on the surface. They can come from an air compressor that's introducting oil into the air stream, someboy spraying bug spray or silicon based stuff, the fan could be slinging a little oil, it can come from anywhere. You...

Larry . . . a trick pro painters use is to cover the sharp edges with a piece of 3/4" masking tape when you sand. Remove the tape when your finished and go over those areas with a fine "Scotch-Brite" pad. That will give the primer some bite without going through the primer. Good luck ...

Tom's suggestion to sand with 400 grit and up is the way professionals start when there are visible imprefections. The polishing method is really effective after you already have a relatively smooth surface. I would recommend putting 3/4" wide masking tape over any hard edges and corners, such ...

Thanks all for the support. I'll be using the boat mainly at Puerto Penasco and Kino Bay on the Sea of Cortez until I retire. I'll post performance results when I splash it. Thanks again to JM, Shine, Tom, and the regulars on the forum. I've gotten as much enjoyment following this Forum as I have bu...

My job has kept me on the road for the last few months, but I have begun to make some progress again. I've prepped and sprayed the finish and installed the TACO rubrail over my wood rub rail. I'm putting pieces back on it now and need to order the steering and engine cables. The electrical system is...

I've mixed multiple batches of Marinepoxy hardners with no issues at all. Others have as well with no reported negative consequences.

No blush and easy application with Marinepoxy, plus the ability to mix hardners for the ideal cure rate. I haven't seen a better price anywhere, and the very fast shipping from Joel doesn't hurt, either.

Thanks Cracker & Dougster. There's very little original creation in my boat. Most every issue has been solved and documented by someone else here on the forum. I've really enjoyed following your builds here, not just for the fine techniques and skill, but for the friendly banter. Your going to h...
