Hank, Jacques (RIP) and Jeff will be the first to tell you that for boats this small a choice of foam and carbon fiber (or glass fiber) instead of good quality marine plywood is not going to save any weight. Hank, my building method is not the standard. 5/8" PET foam core, vacuum bagged carbon fiber.

I have also convinced myself that a Yamaha 25HP is the right engine for this. I'm going with tiller steering, and a grab bar in the center of the open cockpit.
