The boat looks really nice from the side view! I sure like your scuppers too.

Wondering if a couple of eye hooks and two "Come-a-longs" could get your desired bend to the wood, if you used some alternate bunk material (maybe within a boiling hot bath). Just a wild idea.

I ditto what Cracker said, its a really clean/professional helm station and cabin! And thanks for the play by play on the bifolds, which will help me when I get to that point. That was great and threads like this keep Bateau the great forum it is. Beautiful boat and I'm glad your "old" Joh...

Noti wrote:percy, could you pls describe what you mean with "interesting handeling characteristics" in a following sea. Does she dig in or broach ?
My experience is a strong following sea can give most any decent boat some "interesting handling", even a 58' AK seiner.

I had checked out your website before following the build. Missed this launch post, but wasn't surprised by how fantastic it looks, seeing your work going forward. You and a few others are setting the boat building bar way too high for most of us. Its a beautiful craft!

That $2500 for a 17' trailer (new) seems way high too. I bought a new "Roadrunner" galvanized 15' small boat trailer for less than $800 tax/title/license included. And if you shop around Craig's list you could probably find a lightly used one for less than a grand - for a 18' boat easy.

Looking at the BOM, I am guessing the hull bottom (and sole?) and frames are from 1/2" ply and maybe the sides and deck/gunnels are from 3/8" with most of the cabin being from the 1/4"? I really don't know... Must be nice and stout. Anyone with Panga 25 plans know? Here is something s...

I like it. You could put a small windshield forward and a short canvas top for covered wheel house... and have your NW cruiser with still 8 feet of open cockpit! To have that big of a boat with a 75 HP would be a great camp cruiser for us in the wetter climates. So what if the cuddy is short? You ju...

My only thought is you might want a little more freeboard, for those occasional summer tides and wind combos which can get a bit dicey, especially up towards Queen Charlotte. What about the Classic 21 open with a cuddy? I suppose its more power and associated cost than you might want. But I imagine ...

CR, Congratulations, the boat and cabin looks fantastic! Good luck with that 60 hp. You sure got this baby done really fast. I like your open cockpit too. Your boat really is nice! :) BTW, I had a similar problem with my old 35HP Johnson when one of two coils went out while tubing my son and his fri...

Whoo, she looks terrific - like production terrific. :D Larry, I really liked the all white - without the yellow stripe - Whizz rollers (4 inch) high density foam which I got at Lowes. Used them for S3 Satin Clear and they worked great for that. They sold them in the six pack. Maybe that is what you...
