Splashwell is like the outside of the hull, may be wet 50% of the time, or more...
...fill and drill would only take an hour............

Re: 51,6 knots over 500 mts
Hydroptere is awesome truly awesome, like a jet plane on water. But a little unattainable. On the other hand if you have the will and a few dollars, you can kitesurf, though maybe not as fast as Rob Douglas, who could literally pass you on the highway. 55.65 knots, about 64mph... http://www.youtube....

Re: ThistleDew's AB23
When I try to bend thin balsa into hull shapes, it very often splits. Have used posterboard and cardboard with ok results, and really thin -1/32 to 1/16- plywood. The plywood works and looks good, but costs more. Order it from a airplane/model airplane house (for example, aircraft sprcue) if you wan...

Re: Miami to New York
sweet tea flavored vodka = DO NOT WANT
sorry, is no better than red bull and vodka,
but makes the mouth feel like you have sucked a tea bag.
Your brain will say, "I'm drunk and wired, but drowing in tea bags!!!
Peter, skip that one.
On the other hand, you might try it just once

Re: OB19 build in Texas
unless brads are bronze you might want to dig them out and fill. Not too much trouble and long term, it's hard to think of a worse place to have problems from corrosion/rot/splitting, than along the backbone of the boat.... Maybe this is too uptight an approach for you. For some though, a half hour ...

I think the girl should get a reward: tutition to a sailing camp. No reason not to sail, and learn to sail well.
The parents and the civil servant should also get a "prize":
permanent duty cleaning holding tanks.
(parents= idiots, civil servant? well, I just am not that fond of them )

Re: WESTERN CEDAR SOURCE
Western cedar is an excellent boatbuilding wood, especially for composite technique and small boats, light boats. I think of it as a middle ground between hardwood (or plywood) and foam. Cost, easy workablility and damage tolerance of other wood, but lighter. Cedar would not be my choice for a cleat...

Re: What model boat is this???
Now and then I wish I could have a boat like harald's,
to fit through a narrow driveway gate easier,
but still be bigger than the littler boats,
and lighter, and faster.... someday perhaps....

Re: What model boat is this???
Modified c19 built in Austria I think.
bottom is same as c19 I think; topsides and frames redone.
I have always admired this boat although it seems a little unusual and the full width of a normal C19 is nice.
The builder used to have a website for the build, in German I think.
Edited.
