Re: Wiring

Alan, I looked at the wiring diagram in the owner's manual and it looks like the green, yellow and black are for adding an optional tachometer and oil warning gauge. The black is ground. The green goes to the ignition (spark plug). And the yellow goes to the sump pressure sensor. The engine should r...

Re: wire sizes?

Mike, You could google "12 volt wire sizing chart". There are several charts in internet space that can help you calculate what you need. Here is an example: http://www.affordable-solar.com/Learning-Center/Solar-Tools/wire-sizing Also if you wanted to increase your electrical saavy there i...

Re: Harness & hydrolics together ?

I believe it's bad only if your chase tube diameter is too small. If it is too small then lube and cursing is involved.

Re: Flipping the hull question

Hi John, let me see if can answer some of your questions. Is the hull strong enough by itself now to flip or do I need to somehow reinforce the inside of hull before flipping? I sure hope this question isn't as stupid as it sounds. If you have already glued on your rub rail it is plenty strong enoug...

Re: Lay-out change FS17

I don't think there will be a structural objection.
I would have at least 16 inches (41 cm) between the console and seat box.

Re: Propping FS17 Tohatsu 50

I did an initial guess at a prop for when I eventually finish mine and came up with 13x11 (diameter x pitch). Was awhile ago and I don't remember how I came up with that figure. I might be confused but I thought that generally to increase bite you would increase pitch. Someone please correct me if t...

Re: FS17 Kit - Confused with Motorwell

You are correct. The spacing between the motorwell sides is 32". When you are ready to install the motorwell bottom trim it to fit. I would recommed not trimming until it's time to install. The space between my motorwell sides turned out to be 32 and 1/16 inches.

Re: Best way to flip fs17

I flipped mine with 4 guys and it was super easy. The hard part was building a cradle for the hull which I did first. We then lifted the hull off of the frames and moved it to the cradle. Put one side of the hull on one side of the cradle and rolled onto the cradle. The hull is super light. The fram...

Re: FS17 Weight Distribution

The designer specified in a previous thread that the longitudinal center of gravity should be 68 inches foward of the bottom of the transom. See if the following link works. http://forums.bateau2.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16578&hilit=fs17+spreadsheet He also provided this nice spreadsheet to h...

Re: OB19 build in Texas

Looking good Steven. Probably no problem with the slow. Under 50 degrees the slow will take about 48 hours before it's hard enough to sand. At least that has been my experience.
