OK, so let's jump forward 9 years. I completed the boat up to painting stage back in 2008. It then took up space in my garage leaning against the wall until last week at which time I finally found the time to start painting. Finished that today and hope to see this project in the water within a coup...

John, The less expensive plywood I used worked out OK for me for this application. I will end up learning an awful lot about boat building and will be able to transfer those new found skills over to the next build. Between the pump and the carb are two gaskets. there is a small rectangular hole in each. When I disassembled the carb to clean (motor wouldn't start, had good spark) the two rectangular holes were not lined up. Outboard Diaphram Pump
Anyone out there intimately familiar with diaphragm fuel pumps? I have a gasket question if so. Trying to get an outboard working to drive my FL14 (if I ever get it in the water!!)

Oh Man! Quick Fare rocks! There is absoloutely no comparison between sanding down Quickfair and the mixture I used. It could actually be hand sanded!
