I was mentioning that for Topwater's sake. He did say later though that he won't need to open the doors in winter, so shouldn't be an issue for him either.

i would build swing out doors next time less expencive easyer to insulate. I just moved in early December and there is a small garage on the back of the property with swing out doors. I have my snowblower in there and I have to say, I want to change it to a roll up door. Not only do I have to shove...

Larry, we've been working on a boathouse up here the last few weeks, we can walk all the way around it, drop tools and get em back without going swimming and ain't been bit by a mosquito lately either. And our moose get bigger than that pig (LOL).

Cracker Larry, you don't know what your missing out on. Two years ago fishing on Guelph Lake, a bunch of kids got together and started playing football, then somebody's rottweiller (sp?) stole the ball and the kids chased the damn thing all over the lake trying to get the ball back. Laughed my frigg...

You find good tips everywhere on this forum. I have a home built jonboat that pounds so bad it shakes the whole boat (not a bateau design). I have tried quartering into the waves, tacking like a sailboat, which reduces the pounding somewhat. I'll try the weight to one side trick next time out.

Sorry to hijack this back to moose hunting. Awsome moose Lower! We got one as well, but just a little guy. This year and last year we had bulls cross the road in front of the truck on opening day. This year though we had a bull tag, so my buddy jumped out of the truck and ran after him and dropped h...

Funny thing with adding weight.... you think now, that a little weight won't be that big a deal, until its painted and you try and lift it. I think they even have a 2.5 oz cloth here now, which may be perfect on that interior for abrasion issues, and if finishing bright. Just more thoughts... :) Ac...

The plans call for 6 oz tape inside and out with no cloth at all (though it is listed as an option). I was thinking that the cloth would more or less act as really wide tape.

HC12, fully glassed outer hull

I plan to cover the entire hull in 6 oz glass cloth inside and out when I get around to starting my build (which won't likely happen till January). Can the outside tape be eliminated when the hull is fully glassed to minimize weight and make fairing a bit easier? I still plan to tape the inside seam...

I read your build thread from the begining as well. Looking good CR, congratulations on the splash. Can't wait to see the pics of the first fish you land in her.
