rubrail
I did my rubrail on my V12 almost per directions. To dress it up a little I substituted the last and outer layer of 1/4" plywood with a strip of mahoganey. A 1/4" strip of solid mahoganey bends very nicely. I used the idea from one of the other folks about cheap clamps - used a chunk of sc...

waxing new paint?
I've painted my V12, inside and out with Easypoxy. I'm wondering if anyone out there can tell me if I would gain anything by waxing the outside of the hull, and how long I should let the paint cure before I do that.

paint curing time till first splash?
I'm in the finishing stages of my V12. I gave the bottom two coats of primer and two coats of Easypoxy last week. This week I'm doing the same on the inside and should have it done by Thursday. My question is, can I use the boat this weekend for a overnighter? Or should the paint be allowed to cure ...

fairing advice!
Well, I spent a week fairing my V12 with microballons, then putting on a another coat of epoxy. I figured it was as smooth as glass. But folks, don't believe your eyes - like another post said, if you can feel imperfections, you'll see them when you paint. And boy where they right! I put my primer o...

daggerboard tools
I use a power planer for the initial work, then my Porter Cable orbital sander. I really don't think you have to have a perfect airfoil shape on it. On my old fg dingy they just rounded the edges of the daggerboard and it works fine.

priming necessary?
I'm almost to the painting stage of my V12. I've bought a quart of easypoxy for it. I've faired the outside of the hull with microballoons then gave it another coat of epoxy. I'm a little unsure on how to proceed. Do I have to apply a high build primer? Does the surface need to be sanded yet again s...

coaxing it in on V12
I had the same problem. I ended up using my wallpaper steamer to steam the plywood, then it bent fine.

fairing - yes
Yes, fairing. I got a little experience right away by building the mast and boom for my sailing version of the V12 before I bought any plywood. I must say I've collected some very useful tools while building this, mostly based on recommendations from others on this website. My Cable Porter obital sa...
