Re: Jaysen's V12 -- 'Lil Bit' of everything fun
Jaysen, Congrats on starting your adventure. I completed my V12 7 years ago and have been having lots of fun with it. It's a great little boat, very capable. I've rowed it during a small craft advisory with 3-ft. waves and never got any water over the top. Jacques did a great job with the design. It...

Re: TJ's V10
Here's a little half-oval 3/8" brass strip I added to the skeg because without it, the epoxy/graphite was stripped away after one day on the rocky beach. We'll see how it does. I did pretty much exactly the same thing, including the countersunk screws, for the same reasons on my V12 7 years ag...

Re: Learning to build a boat V12 build
...So I'm hoping I won't need to tape the deck itself, since it's not really structural, and it's hard to reach the interior. http://www.morocz.com/BoatBuilding/images/58_tools.jpg Put your tools on the ends of long sticks and it's easy. The putty knives are used to make the fillet (rounded one to ...

Re: Epoxy to metal
Yes it does.
Rough it up with some emery cloth and clean off any oils or grease.

Re: Feral Pigs
Classify them as an endangered species and drop a hint in an Asian country that they help bedroom performance and they'll be extinct in a year. You do realize that was a racist statement? Terrible, I have several good Asian friends. Are you from the south  We get accused of saying crap like th...

Re: Feral Pigs
Its time to have a special hunting opportunity for pigs like they have for the pythons in the everglades. Make a requirement for those receiving welfare that if you want to use your EBT card at a gas station or mini-mart, you have to bring in 1 hog head. Classify them as an endangered species and d...

Re: Scale for VG26 scaled drawing?
The drawing says that the boat length is 27". Anyway, I was mostly interested in trying to work out what kind of building space I'd need, so height from bottom of keel shoe to top of cabin is what I needed. Looks like 8'4" based on the LOD of 25'.
Thanks,

Re: V12 Light Step
ks8, Please take this as helpful advice, not as a personal attack. As someone who's built the V12 and been using it for a bit over 4 years, all I can say is - don't. Most of your proposed modifications would completely ruin a wonderful boat. While you are respecting the shear line and the shape, you...

Scale for VG26 scaled drawing?
I downloaded the PDF file but there's no scale indication on it. I'm trying to figure out how large a workspace and fixtures I'd need.
