Re: Tis the season

Hey there Cape Man, Cheers to you! Here's a couple scenes from this year as well - I haven't gotten any giants yet but will be eating good this year as well. https://www.community.boatbuildercentral.com/gallery/albums/userpics/19577/normal_20201030_095031.jpg https://www.community.boatbuildercentral...

Re: OB19 in SW FL

Smaller. I have two that are something like 1.25" that go straight aft from motorwell bulkhead to transom and two that are about a 0.5 " straight out the sides right in front of mwbulkhead. It is self bailing, but I keep things plugged up to keep a dry deck unless needed.

Re: September Sally

My mother in law in is in niceville fl near Destin. She is one block off the bay on the mainland. Sea water came at least 2 feet high in her yard but she had another 4 feet to go before it got in the house before it started receding. Another one safely passed.

Re: OB19 Deadrise

Hi Joe, I responded about the sole on my build thread. Regarding the ride: I take it out all the time in pine island sound and nearshore in the gulf of Mexico. One trip was 60ish miles one way in open water down the coast. However, in over a foot and especially in a 2 foot chop, head on and you'll s...

Re: OB19 in SW FL

Hi Joe, sorry for the delayed reply. I used to get email reminders for this thread... Anyway, I do still think I would raise the sole only about an inch or less in order to create a trough at the back in front of the motor well bulkhead. This would enable complete self bailing with the exception of ...

Re: Panga 25 Nose Dive

I put in 2 'skegs'. They are placed between the stringers to increase reinforcement and to get them out of the way of the water coming to the prop. As you can see, they don't add to draft, but if they were bigger they would help more with sliding or the butt blowing out in following seas. They don't...

Re: OB19 in SW FL

I cut the pieces today, and with the scrap tested the delamination strength. The glass skin on a 1" wide scrap was not hard to peel back. However, it actually peeled back a small layer of foam with it - so I guess it adhered to the foam well enough. The foam essentially peeled apart, not glass ...

Re: I need Propeller and or engine help

Once again, I'm with Cape Man. I think your recommended WOT is 5500-6000. Better to be closer to the top of that range for longevity. If you will always be running with the heavy load, just over 6000 rpm is close enough. If you feel like you'll be running around with a moderate load most of the time...

Re: Anyone Fishing?

We braved the craziness that is the Florida Keys during lobster Mini-Season. I grew up doing this every year but haven't been there for mini-season for lobster for 5 or 6 years. It was crazy, for sure.

Re: I need Propeller and or engine help

agree with Cape Man - a 21 pitch is probably WAAY too much prop. Not sure on your recommended top HP, but if it could get top RPM you'd be doing about 45MPH!
3 sizes smaller around 14-15 is likely to be about right.
