the trailer has suspension and the tires are inflated with air.... so it is not at all like a hammer... and it is plenty strong .... dont over think it....

will you be using the plywood as the final frames or ar router templates? it looks like butt joints in the assembled ones?? also is it a screw and glue build or will you be building it to the specifications in the old plans? and why not just build it with a straight drive and a cheap I4 engine ... ...

possible... if you put the steering box close to the bottom of the boat and mount a steering column in the console .. that will savve you a bunch of bends on the cable... also running the controll cables into the a chasetube in the mid seat will make it possible to run those cables under the floor (...

i did the same on my fs14 but had to route the cables along the rail.. i dont think its possible to bend them that much, but if you use a hydraulic steering it would be no problem at all., also remember to run a couple of extra chase tubes under the sole so you can mount the fuel tank and battery in...

having built a couple of boats rom bateau.. i can only recommend building a small simple one first... like the D4 ... it will teach you more about epoxy, fairing, sanding, filleting etc than any partner... ill bet that the experience will save you more money in a 17 foot boat in materials and time t...

im picking the motor up today, and have bought a tach for that very reason... (not wanting to throw another rod :cry: ) the std prop is 10 inch pitch and im thinking ill need one in the 13-14 inch range

unfortunately i didn't run chase tubes so the cables all run in that bundle you see next to the railing... the cables dont bend very easily.. minimum radius seems to be 30cm...

i did it on the fs14 and absolutely love the flat floor.... i also moved the rear frame back a foot.. not sure how that works in the fs12 though

the french Okuplex from joubert is marine grade..... they also make 1088 marine ply.. but Okuplex is as good! get the best plywood you can afford
