Re: VG18

Hi,
According to the Study Plans is the hull of VG18 and VG20 quite different besides the skirt. VG20 has more chines than VG18.
That means there must be quite a difference also in sailing performance. I would also like to hear from anyone having built a VG18.

Re: AD 14

Hallo Bondo, We watch every inch of your pictures and therefore I would like to know where is that plywood bracket you talked about and what are the 4 little holes near the keel under the bottom ruder stud for ? I remember you put an oval hole into frame D. Was that for putting the motor in and gett...

Re: AD 14

Hallo Bondo, Did You make this so it fits exactly over the whole length of the centerboard top ? It should also stop the water squirting up I assume. One question about Your beautiful maststep: Did You make different wooden steps like this with different degrees to see which sails better and can You...

Re: Adelie16 from a land down under

Hallo Salvatore, Yes I put 4 lockable wheel under my building frame like Bondo suggested and it is very necessary in my cramped shed I have only 40 cm on each side of the boat and because of the carpeted floor I can push the whole thing with one hand from side to side. I have a question about Your s...

Re: AD 14 Offshore

Hallo Bigdreams, I am building the AD14 for which the same is been said about Ocean going. I am threating my wife to take her on the ocean once its finished. But to be realistic, the first sail will be on the local Austrian Salzkammergut lakes and then maybe the odd sail on the Adriatic sea in good ...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo SP, You are completely right the x axis is not the bottom of the centerboard case. This is for sure the reason why Bondo and me had the problem with the measurements. I have the bottom and the 542 mm line parallel to it both horizontal ( x axis ) As one has to install the centerboard case para...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo SP, I built my centreboard case the correct lenght 1654 and 226 high and with 2 battens (18 mm) on each end which reduces the length of 1654. These battens in my case are 18mm by 50 mm. The problem with Jaques plan is, that with his supplied measurements of the case You wont get a 90 degree an...

Re: AD 14, question for Jacques

Hallo SP,

You can find this on the plan D264_03 Constuction and Lamination : It is 408 mm from station B in the direction to the front bow bow.
On plan D264_04 Stations You can find the exact position of station B from the bow.

Re: AD 14 KIELGE

Hallo Bondo, Thank you for your answer. As if You must have guessed I was puzzling in the last few days about the displacement of AD14 because of the trailer that I should get. Did You get the figure 1340 pounds for DWL and 240 PPI from Jaques or did You weigh your boat ready to sail and calculate t...
