I-75 in my area is a parking lot. Local smaller roads are clogged up.

Re: IRMA
Bottom line is anyone within the potential cone of impact, which includes almost the whole of Florida, should be ready, and should have been ready months ago. We have some things to pick up and secure, but other than that I'm as ready as I'll get. Not much for us either to get ready. Just some extr...

Re: IRMA
I believe that its more likely to strengthen if/when it hits the warm waters of the GOM, which is more/less the direction its currently projected. Its not an uncommon situation, but I heard one weather prognosticator discuss how the pressure system in the GOM should keep it from moving too far north...

Personal EPIRB
Just an FYI for anyone in the market for a personal EPIRB. West Marine currently has a very popular and affordable model with a $50 rebate through Labor Day. My first inclination was to check other sources and I expected to find that even with the rebate, their price was still higher than most. To m...

Re: Bait Tank?
For all practical purposes, I have a "livewell" on my XF20, about 20 gallons when full. It has a single raw-water pump, plumbed through the transom and a T & H Marine adjustable sprayer. The well has a 1 1/4" overflow at the top, which is not big enough. So I installed an overflow...

Re: 2 stroke oil
I have a 2003 Yamaha 2 stroke 90 on my center console and have run only the Pennzoil from Walmart for 7 1/2 years without any issues. That is good to know Mike. The Pennzoil is readily available from Walmart and is cheaper than any other brand. Penzoil is what I use. I think it's called "XLF&q...

Re: Scalloping in Crystal River, FL July 3-6, 2017
We've been at the beach for the last week and half, so I haven't even been on the forum since before then 8) But it looks like you did just fine and figured it out. We scallop up in Dixie County, so we got a little jump start on the action. Went out a few weeks back and did pretty good considering t...

Re: FS-18 "Bare Bones"
Yes, and all 3 days are calling for thunderstorms. Those poor ARS are so rare that we caught one in 30' a few trips ago on your boat.Aripeka Angler wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2017 7:34 pm
Speaking of queasy, do you know that american red snapper and gag grouper both open on Thursday?
ARS season is a whopping 3 days long.
