its a lot of work try to keep the filler putty inside the gaps and not so much build up on the top of the foam. Ideally you want the glass bonding to that foam and not microballoons

I've never seen a planked and caulked sole that was glassed over :? I have not either. Temp changes, maybe swelling/contracting, difference in hardness.....My worry is that the glass would separate from the caulk over time. for a small/simple boat like this. marine plywood is much faster and easier to work withignoring price, is foam or plywood easier to work with?

I like the shape, no need to make a boxy console.
I would use thinner battens and more of them, it will help keep the shape more fair between molds. Maybe a bunch of strips of scrap 1/2 plywood.
