Re: 28 BERTRAM OUTBOARD CONVERSION
Are you going to bring the stringer up to meet the new sole, or are you going to go with deck stiffeners ?

With the baby being so new, we thought it would be a good idea to turn the heat on for a little while last night.Walkers Run wrote:36 here this morning. I had to put socks on.

Re: CNC Router Access
HI Jason, Its the wood. Meranti splinters very easily and it is "stringy" so if the bit is not super sharp, cuts against the grain tend to pull up. With a very sharp/new bit we can get smooth cuts on the meranti, but the bit doesn't stay sharp for very long (maybe 12 sheets). You can try a...

Re: Epoxy with medium hardener still not completely hard!
It has been brutally cold here and if the mix was off slightly it might take longer to cure???? absolutely, once the temp get below 45 there is not much chemistry happening between the resin and hardener. I would suggest putting a heat gun (not direct heat) on it to warm it up. Keep it worm for a w...

Re: 28 BERTRAM EXPRESS CONVERSION
I would suggest epoxy mixed with wood flour. Cheap and very strong. 50 lbs of it on mine so far! That stuff they used is like cabosil. Hard and brittle. A chisel breaks it up pretty well. Beats grinding. The putty they (and all the other manufacturers) used back then was a polyester with silica and...

Re: Even more power
I checked out the 600 hp motor and even had a chat with one of their engineers. Its a pretty amazing machine, and I think they will be successful. The giant center consoles are not just bigger fishing boats, they are a replacement for sport fishing boats. A 45' CC with 3 or 4 huge outboards will cos...

Re: Teak Veneer Beer-pong table and cornhole boards. Help?
if you want to have lines (white or black) between your bright finished teak strips I would recommend using a pigmented epoxy like I did for the runabout deck.... http://gallery.bateau2.com/albums/userpics/12155/normal_20140213_114027_resized~0.jpg you clear coat over the entire thing to make one su...
