I may be old...but I'm slow. And that's the hardener I used on 4 builds.

Re: GT23
I built the LB22 w/o help so yeah, in sections, just like you wrote. Years later there are no delaminaations so I don't see much wrong with "wet on dry". Little bit of sanding and lay the next section on or stay inside the 24hr window and just proceed. I know a mechanical bond is not as st...

Re: I have a dream
Seems to me like we got a bit of thread drift going here. Fallguy's topic is tinting, not function. We know the epoxy is good and works well. We "dream" about some better tinting is all.

Re: Bulbous bows
Well I can finally wrap my mind around it enough to visualize it. My first thought was my God it's like building two bizarrely shaped, super strong kayaks. That and they gotta fit just so on the bow hulls. Hats off to you.

Nice. The Admiral knows epoxy---love the paint stir attachment/drill trick for stirring. After watching I wanted to take some ibuprofen in sympathy.

Re: Epoxy ratio verification method
Seems like that would be a two to one mix by weight, not volume I don't recall what the mix by weight ratio is though.

Re: Drilling thru holes
Wood flour and epoxy works fine for filling holes before re-drilling them.

Re: Quikfair Questions
1. For horizontal surfaces I've used a loose slurry of resin/fairing mix in hope of a bit of 'self leveling". That's a Cracker Larry suggestion I believe. Otherwise I just have gone to QF right away. I like the stuff and am not sure how much more expensive it is over the resin/mix given the pri...

Re: I have a dream
I don't think it's too much to ask. My dream has been that when mixed, the resin is some specific, clearly identifying color to prove you got the mix right. That too much?
