Re: Old outboard (15hp Johnson) rehab
Do you have everything back like it was? If the grommet is missing or messed up you will not get full water pressure and it will not pee. Did you install a full new pump kit?

Re: 1988 HydraSports 2500 WA Vector
So will you be leaving the outside glass and rebuilding the transom from the inside? If so adding more plywood is much more cost effective than trying to build up a lot more glass. Are you doing this work with epoxy? If so 1700 is much nicer to work with than 1708. 1708 can be a bitch to wet out wit...

Tommy it looks like you were here in late July. I hope you had a good trip. When it is nice here it is really nice! Only problem is we have a lot of the year that is not so nice

Re: RB16 new build KY 1st timer
I think that is pretty common on many boats. The plywood sort of has a say in how it will lay. To me the big thing is it the same on each side and does it look right to your eye.

6oz is a much loser weave so it takes more epoxy to fill in the gaps. I will only use 6 oz if I am out of every thing else.

Re: Old outboard (15hp Johnson) rehab
Those outboards and the 30hp triple Yamaha are two of the best two strokes ever made. Just a ton of power for their weight. As for changing out the water pump it is no big deal. Hardest part may be getting the leg apart.

Did that feel like you were flying? How did the boat at that speed?

Re: RB16 new build KY 1st timer
The guys are giving good advice and I would do as they have said. For me I would want the side panels to line up with the bottom. If you end up with a big gap at the bow for the side panels it is no big deal. Epoxy/wood flour will fix a lot of problems.

You are a far better man than me if you can get away with boat building stuff in the house
Need to post pictures as you go. It makes for a far better thread and better chance others will spot something to help with.
