Re: D15 Completed

Thank you all for the compliments on my boat. For the kiwigrip application, I taped off areas with 3M green automotive tape. I used a razor blade to cut the radius around corners. If using the razor blade technique, be careful not to apply to much pressure and cut through the paint. I used a cheap c...

Re: D15 Completed

You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHn5akGbaNo&feature=em-upload_owner Shot a short video of the boat in my driveway and running down a canal near my house. I lowered the motor 1.5" on the jackplate and the boat ran like a bat out of hell, 31mph (hand held gps) with Yamaha aluminum p...

Re: D15 Completed

Thank you all for the positive comments. I do have a tiny tach on the motor and the next time out plan to write down rpm/speed #'s and post on the forum for stainless steel prop recommendations. It seems like every time I am off of work the forecast is for rain. I did add a birdsall trolling motor m...

PH 18 - Tumblehome & Bow Flare

I am considering building a Phantom 18. Would it be possible to modify this boat to a Carolina style with tumblehome and bow flare? Would this modification require a complete redesign? Thanks

Re: D15 Outboard Question

Gary and Tom I appreciate the information provided. It looks like I cannot go wrong with either motor as they will both perform well on this hull. ChrisV

D15 Outboard Question

I am trying to make a decision on an outboard for a D15 skiff that I have been working on. I think the skiff is heavier than what the plans specify due to 12oz biaxial tape on all seams, 12oz biaxial cloth inside and out, 9oz tape on deck seams, decks fully glassed with 9oz cloth, etc.. Should I go ...
