I pondered that too and seems like the best place is so that you are pulling up on the boat rather than down with your winch. The height of the winch is adjustable on most trailers so you can find the sweet spot when it is on the trailer. I would wait to drill the holes until you load it on the trai...

Yes, mainly a drainage problem but I think it affects performance at low speeds. If you have enough horsepower, more than my 25, otherwise you are pushing a wave at hull speed. The bigger motor will no doubt kick the bow up out of the water and go on plane. You will need a store bought bracket, migh...

Thanks again. How did the trim problem manifest itself? Was it different at different speeds/loads/water conditions? Do you still have your boat? Yes we still have it and it performs exactly as Jacques described in his post. It will not plane with a 25 although I am sure that it exceeds hull speed....

I can't explain the trim problem, I think the houseboat hull with the fuller bow would probably be fine. If you read the other posts you will note that the problem was not unique with my build. You wont run like a bat out of hell with this boat with a small engine, it weighs way more than a skiff, h...

At the very top of this page in the right hand corner is the search box, type in GT23 and go through the various pages, as in my blog, you have to go back page after page to get to what you want.
