since fiberglass and pvc have different expansion(contraction) rates. of which I believe based on some research epoxy expands and contracts more than pvc. clamp it down to a flat surface or thick battons and leave it till you are ready for permanent install. Its going to move regardless where it is until attached.

The trouble with routing is chipout and overcutting and that the router hides the line you so closely desire to see. If the sander chips out the board; it was already weak. if you use the tool or something similar i linked in the one video above it will help you trace the outside edge to the inside edge a little easier. then it’s “just” shape to the line.
