Re: Jaysen's V12 -- 'Lil Bit' of everything fun

If you check out tips from a shipwright on youtube, he fairs a hull with the plane. also, his tips for tuning a plane up are top notch. The problem for most with the power plane is that it makes things flat. Perfect for removing glue from beam laminations. Less ideal for boat hulls. Hence my scratch...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

I mean its hard with pictures obviously. I test people all the time on noticing details and I promise you are just about the only person that will notice it. If it bothers you in a year then change it. Otherwise the doors will cover it and you’ll never notice. Hell you might decide after using it fo...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

I’m not talking about the hole the pocket hole drill makes when i say pilot hole. Plastic requires all the material where the screw shaft goes through to be removed, unlike wood. Wood has space inside it where it can compress the extra material. plastic is 100% full so it expands outward when you pu...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

Good looking pocket screw joinery is harder than people make it sound. you need a clamp to pull the pieces together, kreg makes one. Right Angle Clamp 5-in Right Angle Clamp Handscrew Clamp https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kreg-Right-Angle-Clamp-6-in-Right-Angle-Clamp-Handscrew-Clamp/1000105661 this might n...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

yep, they make them that long. that displacement is from not using the correct size predrill bit, also it needs to be very well centered. its not pushing one way or another. Also, backing the screw out and putting it back in. too much pressure can be part of the problem. plastic should have less pre...

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

so I think the issue with movement is the plastic doesn’t have internal space like wood for the screw shaft. so you need to put a full pilot hole for the shaft of the screw. it doesn’t matter how much pressure its never going to work because the plastic needs to push the excess material somewhere. t...

Re: OD18 Outdoor Storage Florida

If you are thinking about leaving it basically unattended in florida except for vacations. you are going to need a hurricane resistant cover, strapping it to trailer. Staking the trailer to the ground, like how they do mobile homes.

Re: Woods Skoota 32DM

It can be sanded, its just different than sanding wood. And you aren’t easily going to remove an 1/8” material that way. a low angle hand plane and flame polishing may help you get a high spot. if you get the surface smooth, you could do vinyl wrapping or something similar on the door if there is a ...
