Anyone else with thoughts on my last post about transom & engine height & weight? Calling Honda guy tomorrow on why manual says anti-ventilation plate install 0to2 inches below hull.. & why their long shaft is 22" Here's some pics I finally got sized correctly... 20200816_192625.jpg...

Are you bolting the motor or using the clamps. If bolting you my be able to just adjust the height by where you put the holes in the transom and selecting the right holes in the bracket. True. I was just hoping to have engine sit atop transom, not a couple inches above. Gonna call Honda dealer for ...

Mine is 2018 Honda bf20d (4 stroke), remote, power tilt. It is 22.2" to plate & States it right in manual I just never looked online. It also says 0"to2" below hull is fine, which means I'm probably OK, but others in forum say 2" is too much (which I agree is generally correc...

Pics may need a day to be approved. You'll see I did add a couple corner pieces. I'm fairly confident in transom,though now I may have to raise it a bit bc Hondas have longer long shaft 22".ugh.may raise an 1" so only 1" below hull bottom. Honda says 0 to 2" ok.

You are going to want the cav plate even with hull bottom or higher. 2 inches below is going to cause too much drag and hurt the performance. If I just mount it even with hull bottom (& don't raise height of transom) , mounting bracket will be 2" up off of transom top. I've had that before...
